Case study
Building a communications function from zero
A Swiss cultural-technology venture had no communications function. I built the whole of it: brand, positioning, channels and reporting.
- Client
- Swiss cultural-technology venture (founder-led)
- My role
- Sole communications lead
- Year
- 2026
The starting point
I work as sole communications lead for founder-led organisations across IT and the cultural / heritage sector. This venture started with no communications function at all, and I set the agenda together with its founders rather than working to a brief.
What I built
- Brand and visual identity, and the positioning behind it.
- Audience personas and a content strategy built on them.
- The launch of six channels.
- The business plan, investor presentation and financial projections, alongside the communications strategy and competitor analysis.
Results
- LinkedIn engagement rates of 5.36% to 14.58% and click-through up to 13.47% — several times the 2–3% typical for organic B2B content.
- 92,600 impressions in the first six months.
- Across my mandates, a founder's LinkedIn grew from 2 to 389 followers, with an audience that is 42% manager level or above and concentrated in the target sectors.
Reporting that drives decisions
I introduced quarterly performance reporting covering cadence, conversion and concentration-risk analysis. The founders use it to set priorities and allocate spend.
How I work
I operate an AI-assisted production workflow across research, drafting, analysis and reporting, which lets me deliver agency-scale output as a single operator.
